They don't know that Freddy is wanted by the police and that his longing for faraway places won't let him go.

Freddy is still unaware of all this and goes to a party with his girlfriend, the flower seller Ilse. Even when an attempt on his life goes wrong, Freddy still has no idea of the danger he’s in. It’s only when he hears about the attack on Paul on the radio that the truth dawns on him. Now he’s determined to track down the perpetrators, if only to avenge the crime against his friend...
